VR/EC Instructions

Non-Compliance:

If client does not show up for an initial appointment and does not call, check as non-compliant and explain in the court report activity log.

If client fails to make subsequent appointments, try to reach them 2 times by phone or email. If no response after 1 week, mark them as non-compliant and explain in the court report activity log.

Step 1: EAP will refer the client to the OCS VR Counselor and EC partner. Ideally make this a warm hand-off. All VR Regional managers have agreed that these referrals (to VR and EC) may happen simultaneously due to the pressured timeline of OCS. Most offices have found it most effective to schedule regular, periodic meetings for the three of you, where a new client may be introduced. Please be sure to indicate the VR Counselor and EC to whom the client was referred, and the date of referral. This can be done at the website listed in Step 5 below.
Step 2: If for any reason the client has not yet been referred to an EC, the VR counselor will do this and update the database as described in Step 3 below.
Step 3: Please update the database as additional information becomes available. You do that at https://bit.ly/w4klog, or simply click the orange Activity Log button above. If a client does not show for their first appointment, you should mark them as non-compliant here. Marking a client non-compliant sends an email to OCS, prompting them to reach out to the client. Please update the log with any activity that will help demonstrate to the courts that this client is following through, in the activity section to the right. Make basic compliance notes on the left.
